  • This is not for everyone but I have noticed when I select lots of folders and you get a blue highlighter it can start to slow down. To fix this:

    1. right click my compter
    2. then advanced
    3. then performance settings
    4. untick show translucent rectangle
    5. then re-tick show translucent rectangle
    6. then apply

    Now when you highlight your folders in Windows XP there should be no more lag.
