Windows XP Tweaks

You use AIM (AOL Instant Messenger)? If so you might be wondering how you can get rid of those annoying ads in the AIM window. Here is how.

Note: This is not really Win XP specific but it’s still a cool tweak.

1. Go to your AIM install directory and open aim.odl with notepad
2. Search for “advert” (there are two instances)
3. Delete the word “required” after each “advert”
4. Save the file and exit
5. Exit out of AIM and delete “advert.ocm”
