To revert back to the Win2k style logon so you can log on as the administrator and other options, press ctrl+alt+delete twice.
If you want the Windows 2000 CTRL+ALT+DEL screen to appear in XP instead of immediatly jumping to the task manager simply deactivate the welcome screen: start > settings > control panel > change the way users log on and log off > uncheck "Use the welcome screen"
A tweak to revert to the logon screen like that in Windows 2000 and earlier Windows versions of Windows. Before you start make a note of the Usernames on your computer and that your account has Administration rights. 1. Open My Computer 2. Click on Control Panel in the 'Other places' panel to your left.
If you want the 2k lock box, but not the 2k login box then go to User Accounts and click "Change the Way Users Logon or Off" then uncheck Fast User-Switching but not Welcome Screen.
