Enjoying the Cingular BlackJack but finding that the batt life is really weak? Happy days are here my friends — at least for a select bunch of you. If you haven't already rushed out and dropped $50 on the extended battery for your trusty Windows Mobile device, contrary to what everybody tells us, procrastination can indeed pay off.
Apparently some things in life are free! Cingular is offering no cost extended-life love for any BlackJack purchased with only the two standard batteries in the package. Simply zip over here, enter your IMEI number, (this can be found by typing *#06# on phone keypad, or looking under the battery, and is even printed on your box) and mobile number in the handy dandy form. Apparently IMEI numbers between 352794010030189 to 352794012269959 are good to go, so hurry up and grab yours before the deal is done.

Considering that Motorola has been yearning to duplicate the monumental success of the RAZR with, well, anything, we can't quite decide what to make of the firm's desperate / throw back attempt to conjure sales with an all new StarTac. Sure, the Moto mainstay holds a dear place in many of our hearts, and even the short-lived 2004 edition was appreciated for its nostalgic flair, but the 3.2-ounce StarTac III MS900 just seems a bit too vintage to actually enjoy in this millennium.

Meizu's king, lord and ruler, Mr. L Wong, has posted a couple tasty tidbits about this touch screen, MP3 playin', stylish little cellphone (that looks absolutely nothing like an iPhone) on the Meizu forums. Apparently — and please take this with at least one good pinch of salt — the M8 miniOne will come in two flavors: an entry-level plus a standard version. Both of these devices feature that mad mad 3.2 inch, 720 x 480 screen, and will come in either 4GB or 8GB editions. The only significant difference betwixt the two seems to be the addition of a camera for the standard edition, but word is that a camera add-on will be available.

We love those movies where the kidnappers use voice-altering equipment to talk to the authorities and such — lower voice octaves with seemingly lower speed rule, yes? The elderly of Japan may like that concept as well, as Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo is about to roll out the "Raku-Raku" handset that personifies that functional but useful line for customers that just want to make calls.

Is this depiction of the redundantly-named Moto Q q9 in AT&T livery utterly Photoshoppable? Yes; but is the idea of the q9 coming to AT&T completely believable, too? Yeah, we'd say so.

Though O2 spends plenty of time getting cozy with Quanta for its Windows Mobile needs, that doesn't mean they've thrown HTC to the curb. The latest two HTCs to get the O2 treatment — in Germany, anyway — will be the Herald and Elf, released as the Xda "terra" and "nova" respectively.
