@malinakis1 When using Wi-Fi on an Iphone, Safari is just as good as Opera Mini. Maybe even a little bit faster. Opera Mini on the iPhone was created to load multiple pages at once, or to be used over 3G or a normal signal. When Opera Mini VS Safari on a computer, l definitely think Opera Mini is faster.

I bought my iPhone. There was Safari. Than l downloaded Opera Mini. Than there was Opera Mini.
l bought my Windows 7 computer. There was Internet Explorer. Then l downloaded Opera mini. Than there was Opera Mini.

@lakshmere What? Opera didn’t invent it. It’s a new standards program being undertaken by mozilla, apple, google and opera and Opera lacks major support in HTML5 for many sites. Chrome and Safari currently has the best HTML5 support. Also, Opera Mini on my iPod touch does not render any HTML5 elements on youtube yet safari is more than happy too. Do some research before posting BS. K? 8D

@benanderson88 Opera invented HTML5, so if I were you I would do my homework before posting BS

@chilliwilly1000 security? on an iphone? u gotta be kidding me..

The problem with safari is that it functions identically to the desktop version so on slower networks it can take forever to load.
That said, Safari supports HTML5 and is polished to a degree which opera has yet to match.
Right now I’m using opera on my iPod touch – great User Interface won me over. Though with HTML5 gaining popularity (youtube even uses it now) Opera needs to catch up and implement it ASAP.

Hey, so does this make browsing thru roaming cheaper? Because with safari my charges are through the roof.

@muchdrama exactly … like WTF Safari!

@ByteReviews If you’re trying it through wi-fi chances are that your wi-fi connection is just fast enough to load the pages at the same speed. Opera compresses the stuff so each page loaded is actually much smaller in size, so indeed it takes less time to load. If your connection is fast you might just not notice the difference because uncompressed stuff take the same time to load

@ByteReviews Plus using Opera makes your web browsing MUCH much cheaper, unless you have unlimited internet, which these days who doesnt.

This reason alone was why I didn’t want an iPhone over Android. I’m so glad to see Opera Mini on the iPhone. Now if they were to get Skyfire where we could have our flash I would be happy
about 1 year ago
@ByteReviews Or a blatant lie. Opera compresses and renders 90% of the pages on their servers before sending it to your phone. Safari does not. Opera Mini has been proven many time to be the fasted mobile browser on every phone.
I highly doubt that you tested this using 2G, yes if you have Wifi it makes sense to use Safari, but on the go and with 3G Opera wins. Period.
